Blog #02 Greek and Roman Art
Many times, when a person admires or respects something of another person's, they just can't help but create something similar for themselves. This idea carries over into cultures, as well, like that of Rome and Greece. When it came to art, the Greeks were extremely inventive and respected. So much so, in fact, that the Romans did not see a point in creating a whole new kind of art for themselves, when they could simply borrow that of the Greeks, who had already done the job so well. However, along with many similarities between the art of these two cultures, there were also some differences, due to Romans adding onto or altering certain aspects of the basic Greek formula.
