Blog #09 Contemporary Art

Contemporary Art was also a breakout period for abstract art. As what Ms. Anna said, Doodle Art is also part of Contemporary Art. As we can see, it's also an abstract. Also another way of depicting an Contemporary Art. But for us teenagers, we called it Doodle Art. Especially when boredom strikes. Another way of teenagers of how they express their feelings through their artistic way.

Like what Ms. Anna said, "Minsan yung mga artwork na wala lang. Kahit wala naman talagang meaning yung ginagawa nilang painting." Or kahit ano na lang. May magawa lang.

Abstract Expressionism emphasized the depiction of emotions rather than objects. Most painters of the movement favored large canvasses, dramatic colors, and loose brushwork. Abstract Expressionists saw painting as a pure expression of emotion and means of visual communication. The philosophy of Abstract Expressionism searches for answers to the questions of human existence. It addresses personal psychological battles, the external struggle between man and nature, and the hunt for spiritual comfort. All of these concepts were expressed through abstraction, finding meaning in relating the act of painting with a release of subconscious feelings and desires.

As I notice in this Contemporary Art, this is the Art where you can just have fun. At kahit anong painting, drawing, at kung ano man na hindi maintindihan ng tao o titingin ng artwork mo e, Abstract ang pwedeng itawag dito.

Blog #08 20th Century Art

I have noticed that this period, almost all of the paintings are abstract and 3d base like. Among the movements which flowered in the first decade of the 20th century were Fauvism, Cubism, Expressionism, and Futurism. Painting with oil on canvas continues to be a favored choice of serious painters because of its long-lasting color and a variety of approaches and methods. Oil paints may have been used as far back as the 13th century. However as a medium in its modern form.

Artists in the twentieth century chose two distinct ways to depict modernism and the excitement of progress, realism and abstraction. Western Artists of the 20th century are; Georgia O'Keeffe, Maynard Dixon, Eanger Irving Couse, Nicolai Fechin, Henry Farny. These artists made significant contributions to the Western Art Scene in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Many of these artists added something new or left a strong, signature style in the Western art world.

Blog #07 Modern Art

So as the group discussed Modern Art, it was also related to the period of our topic, Renaissance. Also related to the Baroque period. The motion, drama, and feelings of every paintings.

The modernization start in this period, from the word Modern Art. Modern artists have established a style of painting that is very unique and fresh to them. We could say, their depiction of how they see life and the world around them comes through their art in a very diverse and mixed form. They have a direct bond between their eyes and hands enabling them to portray emotions or the truth as they see it. Coupled with philosophy and inner vision, modern artists could be seen as messengers using abstraction for communicating hidden meanings of life.

Modern art complexes the way we interact and see art because it keeps our mind in the unknown. There are very many meanings associated to different paintings throughout history and some may contain truths or messages. This would probably give us clues about the journey the artist went through when creating the work and meanings would remain embedded within.
